Krasnoselski approved the ban on LGBT propaganda in the region

The so-called leader of the Transnistrian region, Vadim Krasnoselski, has signed a repressive “package of laws” aimed at the LGBT community, sex change and criticism of “traditional” family values. The provisions adopted in mid-July are due to come into force in two weeks. According to the new version of the draft, administrative punishment is provided for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations”, for mentioning sex change, as well as promoting the idea of ​​”childfree” (the choice not to have children), reports Ştiri.md, referring to ipn.md. The fines range from 1,300 to 9,200 Transnistrian rubles. Foreign citizens are subject to arrest for up to 15 days and deportation. The so-called law provides for harsher sanctions for the dissemination of information via the Internet, mass media or among minors. The ban does not apply to cases where there is talk of monastic life, celibacy and renunciation of having children – if this is done in the name of religious organizations and within the framework of their rules, including to present this lifestyle as dignified or attractive. The draft itself is a copy of the Russian laws adopted in the State Duma in 2024. Its promotion in the so-called Supreme Soviet was carried out by local deputies – Buga, Safonov and Shinkariuk.
