Schumacher’s brother marries a Frenchman: The wedding will take place in Saint-Tropez

Schumacher’s brother is marrying a Frenchman. According to the couple, the idea of getting married came largely from their social circle, with friends frequently asking when it would happen.

Schumacher is 50, while his future husband, Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne, is 36 and comes from France.

Étienne built his career in Marine Le Pen’s right-wing National Front party, but left politics before meeting Ralf.

“It’s a great advantage that we don’t speak the same language,” Bousquet-Cassagne told the newspaper Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. “In English and German, I don’t know all the swear words we could hurl at each other.”

A four-part documentary series about the couple, Ralf & Étienne: Wir sagen Ja (“Ralf & Étienne: We Say ‘I Do’”), will premiere on Sky on 21 May. Ralf Schumacher described the documentary as an opportunity to break down “certain prejudices”.

Ralf Schumacher is the younger brother of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. He competed in F1 between 1997 and 2007, winning six races. Ralf was previously married to Cora Schumacher, and they have a son together. Two years ago, he publicly came out as gay and announced his relationship with Étienne. The couple announced their engagement in February 2026.
