HIV testing
The HIV testing service offered by the GenderDoc-M Information Center is confidential, free and available to adults from the LGBT+ community and other men who have sex with men. Testing is performed quickly, using express tests based on capillary blood (from a finger), with results available in approximately 20–30 minutes.
Rapid tests detect antibodies to the HIV virus and, in some cases, the p24 antigen, which allows the identification of the infection in its early stages. Positive or reactive results do not constitute a definitive diagnosis; they indicate the need for confirmatory laboratory testing.
The service includes:
explaining the purpose of testing, risk assessment, psychological preparation and answering questions.
capillary blood sample collection and test interpretation.
discussing the result, its significance, recommendations and next steps.
guidance to confirmatory tests, medical evaluation and access to antiretroviral treatment if necessary.

The GenderDoc-M Information Center offers free and confidential psychological counseling to LGBT+ people and their families.
